St. Petersburg's Media Preservation Challenges
St. Petersburg faces unique coastal threats to stored media:
Surrounded by water on three sides, St. Petersburg's peninsula geography means constant salt air exposure and humidity levels that regularly exceed 80%. The city's older neighborhoods, including Historic Old Northeast, Kenwood, and Crescent Lake, are filled with homes built in the 1920s through 1960s without modern climate control. Collections stored in these homes have been slowly degrading for decades.
Storm surge from Tampa Bay and the Gulf threatens low-lying areas across the city. Tropical storms and hurricanes have damaged countless collections over the years, and flood zones extend deep into residential neighborhoods.
This is not a someday project. Every year of delay means more irreplaceable content lost to moisture, mold, and salt air corrosion. Your family's memories deserve preservation now. Request a shipping kit and send your collection to our studio.
We built Forever Studios because every family deserves to have their memories preserved the right way, by real people, with real equipment, under one roof. St. Petersburg families trust us because we make the process simple: request a kit, ship your collection, and let our team do the rest.
