Melbourne's Media Preservation Challenges
Melbourne and Brevard County face persistent coastal threats to stored media:
Sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon, Melbourne experiences constant salt air exposure that corrodes tape housings and degrades photo emulsions. Year-round humidity averages above 75%, and hurricane season brings direct coastal storm surge risk to barrier island communities like Indialantic, Melbourne Beach, and Satellite Beach. Even inland neighborhoods in Suntree, Viera, and West Melbourne deal with elevated moisture levels that promote mold growth inside stored media.
Melbourne's deep connection to the aerospace industry means many families here hold collections spanning multiple decades of Space Coast history. These are not just family keepsakes; they document a unique chapter of American innovation.
This is not a someday project. Every year of delay means more irreplaceable content lost to moisture, mold, and mechanical failure. Your family's memories deserve preservation now.
We built Forever Studios because every family deserves to have their memories preserved the right way, by real people, with real equipment, under one roof. Melbourne families trust us because we treat their collections the way we would treat our own.
