Photo Printing & Photo Restorations at CVS Pharmacy
The CVS Photo Centers at store locations print photos, create custom products and make copies quickly. CVS can create mini-prints, collages, custom height charts and more as well as large banner prints same day. Many of the photo print orders can be picked up the same day they are placed. For printing out older photos, CVS is a good place to go as they can make prints from 35mm film and disposable cameras, among other things. They have gotten a good reputation for a reason, and we are not trying to tarnish it here.
The iconic CVS logo.
Personally and professionally, I would not use them for wedding photos, family portraits or any other sentimental images. I would not trust them to restore an image either. Use a company that creates beautiful pieces of art, such as Forever Studios.
CVS is good for these kinds of quick and basic print jobs. But if you want very high-quality prints to hang or display, or even just to archive some of your prints, then CVS isn’t your store. And if you need to fix up a print first, then you want to call up your friends at Forever Studios to help out with any photo restoration that you need.
Why Are CVS Photo Kiosks So Popular?
CVS Photo kiosks, like many other national photo retailers (Walgreens Photo, Walmart Photo, and Nations Photo Lab), are popular because you can get your photos within a couple of hours. Sometimes, it can even be done within one hour (depending on the choice of paper type: glossy vs. matte and size print). And they offer such a wide selection of products.

ARE CVS PHOTO CENTER SERVICES WORTH THE COST?
Overall, it works well. You get a pretty good product for a reasonable price. There are many other online stores, however, which can provide comparable or even better online services. This online service from CVS is not even the least expensive option.
CVS Photo is the place to go when your phone's photo gallery is full.
Reviews of CVS' photo services online can be quite mixed, with many positive reviews but just as many complaints about poor prints. Some of the most common complaints include photos having incorrect color, being blurry, or having strange streaks. Many of these problems can be caused by customers submitting low-resolution photos to be printed, but that doesn’t change the fact that the prints don’t look great. Since CVS is an affordable option for printing in large quantities, it’s a good choice when your device is out of storage.
Does CVS Offer Photo Restoration and Color Correction Services?
No, CVS does not appear to offer Photo Restoration in 2025.
CVS is listed on Google and numerous other websites as a location where customers can have photos restored and colors in photos corrected. These listings appear to be outdated as there are no links to services that provide these types of photos on the CVS website. They appear to have been discontinued.
Photo restoration services are generally not performed by major retailers. Retail photo centers, such as those found at CVS, Walgreens and Costco stores, are often operated by third parties under contract to the retailer. The retailer’s name is used to rebrand the services of the external provider who actually performs the work, and make them available through the retailer’s photo centers.
Most major retailers who proposed digitizing and/or restoration services some time ago have pulled the deals as they have been unable to cope with the confusion and delays involved.
We have never offered deals such as these in the past because we feel they compromise the customer experience. Instead we would prefer you to find us and use our platform to ensure you are provided with the right experience and service.

AMERICAN PHOTO RESTORATION & THE COST:
The closest thing we can find to a service partner that has some sort of association with CVS is the company American Photo Restoration, which mentions CVS in their brand literature. Perhaps they are the most recent partner CVS has used in an attempt to provide photo restoration services (but we can’t confirm this).
You get your black & white photo completely restored or colorized for the minimum charge of $39. This includes 2 5x7 photos or 1 8x10 photo plus a CD with digital copies of the restored photo.
Sounds great on paper, but would you really trust CVS or its associate companies to bring back your precious old photos? No, go with a photo restoration expert. Results matter more than a good deal. A good deal isn’t a good deal if the product isn’t any good.

Should I Trust a Quick Service Photo Editing Company or App?
There are several quick-service options as well as smartphone applications that offer photo restoration services via your device's app store. Many of these rapid photo editing companies and applications use artificial intelligence to complete the modifications and corrections needed to restore a photograph.
These kinds of shortcuts can introduce strange anachronisms, low quality and even in some cases make images of people appear strangely in the uncanny valley. (This critique is specifically of an American Photo Restoration service, not in general).

A GREAT REVIEW FOR FOREVER STUDIOS:
Here's a review from one of our satisfied customers:
"Unbelievable is all I can say. We couldn't be more pleased. We wanted a photo of my wife's parents and could only find a group black and white picture from our wedding back in 1967. I took a picture of it with my phone and then cropped it so it only had her parents. We sent that to Forever Studios, and they did their magic. I totally recommend them based on what they were able to accomplish and the speed at which they got the completed images back to us."heir outstanding personal and professional customer service."

★★★★★
"I didn't think it was possible to have a photo, that was badly damaged, come back to life. My grandfather worked around greasy machinery and the photo came from his dirty wallet. It was bumpy and had scratches that I couldn't fix in Photoshop. My jaw dropped when I saw this photo come back looking like it did when it was brand new. Forever thankful!"

Final Thoughts
Beware of quick online restoration services that claim to offer colorization and borders. Most deliver very poor quality work for the price they charge. Be also very wary of so called ‘professional’ restoration specialists who have little to no real expertise in the field and use advertising on-line to promote their very poor services.
Forever Studios delivers professional, archival-quality results in as little as 2-3 business days. At Forever Studios, our experienced team of artists and craftspeople will transform your precious memories into family treasures to be handed down through the generations.
